DIY Lip & Face: Coconut & Shea Scrub

 

Summer is gone, but your lips and skin may be feeling the effects of the hot humid season. The dry and hot temperature makes for parched dry skin and lips. Tank tops, sandals, hats are super cute, but the heat can definitely have a reaction on your skin and lips. Fret not, our Shea and Coconut Sweet Orange Moisturizer works wonders on your skin and lips when combined with brown sugar and honey it makes for an amazing lip, face and body scrub.

Honey is a natural binder that’s super moisturizing. Shea butter is a miracle moisturizer that is rich in Vitamin A, promotes collagen, protects against  free-radicals without clogging pores. Coconut oil rich in fatty acids and makes for a perfect combination in the scrub because it’s also rich in antioxidants. The vitamin C from the Sweet Orange essential oil helps combat environmental pollutant, age spots, discoloration and reverses the signs of aging cause by the excess exposure to the sun.

Did you know that your lips accumulate dead skin cells like your skin. Let’s get started on this delicious scrub that will have both your lips and skin soft enough to kiss.

 

Ingredients:

-  1 spoon of Jacq’s Organics Sweet Orange Shea Moisturizer

-  small mixing bowl

- 1 tablespoon of honey

- 2 teaspoons of brown sugar

- 1 teaspoon of melted Jacq’s Organics Shea Moisturizer or 1 teaspoon of Jacq’s Organics Sweet Orange Face Serum

-  small jar

 

Mix the Jacq’s Organics Sweet Orange Shea Moisturizer and honey until mixture is well incorporated and smooth. Add in teaspoon of melted Jacq’s Organics Sweet Orange Shea Moisturizer cream or Jacq’s Organics Sweet Orange Face Serum and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Mix. Mix. Mix until mixture is a grainy paste.

Transfer into a small jar.

This delicious smelling scrub will last up to 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator.

 

As a Lip Scrub:

Apply scrub to lips in small, circular motions for 1-2 minutes and rinse off with a warm washcloth.

 

As a Face Scrub:

Apply scrub to forehead, cheeks, chin and nose in small circular motions for 2-3 minutes. Place a warm cloth on face and allow to sit on face for an additional 2-3 minutes. The steam from the towel will open your pores releasing the dead skin cells and dirt. Rinse with cold water to tighten and close pores. The colder the better.
