Dreaming of Greece!

While everyone is celebrating summer ending I am still basking in the beauty of the beach days, palm trees and sand between my toes. To end summer on a high note, I am taking you to Greece. First up, is the beautiful volcanic island of Santorini.

This beautiful romantic city is known for the whitewashed houses and blue doors nestled at the top of a breathtaking mountain overlooking the deep blue Aegean Sea. We toured and got lost in the towns of Oia and Fira which felt like we were walking around on a movie set. It was the perfect environment to relax, reflect, and unplug from the rest of the world.

One of my favorite two things to do while in Greece was to meditate and eat - here's why. Here I was at the top of a volcano surrounded by a sea of volcanoes. When I looked up, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I became filled with so much gratitude, peace and amazement at the creation of such splendor. While I was thousands of miles away from home my feet was firmly planted on the ground. I could feel the wind blowing through the tiny hairs on my skin; at that moment, I could feel my body, my mind, and my spirit become still. It's a magical place and created an ideal setting to meditate.

Santorini is the remains an enormous volcanic eruption. As a result, the volcanic soil flavors the vegetation. Each sip of wine and every bite of tomato, olive or melon has so much flavor.

FUN FACT: Santorini has 2 live active volcanoes in its caldera.

The city is just so peaceful and the views from the towns atop the mountain leaves you speechless. With quaint Grecian cafes, picturesque views and unique gift shops there's no wonder why Santorini is one of the hottest places to visit.

"Wonder is the beginning of wisdom." - Greek proverb

Reminiscing about the salty air and delicious Greek cuisine really makes me want to get back. OPA! Until next time.

XO,

Barbara
