Let's Talk Skin

SKIN & FACE CARE AT EVERY AGE

In your 20's, your skin is supple and firm but internal and environmental factors will contribute to the changes in your skin. Proactive treatment, a skin care routine and sun protection is key.

In your 30's, you want to focus on cellular turnover, hydration and prevention. Proper exfoliation (not excessive), a fool-proof skin care regimen, healthy diet, balancing stress and knowledge will help with maintaining a glowing skin.

I've always believed life gets better in your 40's, call me crazy. External factors, fine lines and biological changes may start to reflect on your skin. Laughter, moisture, vitamins, healthy habits and proper skin protection will have positive effects on complexion and skin texture.

Skin care in your 50's+ includes dedication and attention to details. Our philosophy to aging is acceptance and self love. Aging is inevitable and the best way to embrace it gracefully. Skin looses elasticity over time, with the use of vitamins like vitamin A, C and E helps to stimulate cell regeneration, protection against free-radical damage. Emollient rich lubricants, peptide stimulating collagen and antioxidants work to feed and repair mature skin in the most preventative and graceful way.

Skin Type:  Men + Women

There are, of course. varies factors that effect your skin including your genes, stress, your diet, environment, skincare regimen (whether you have one or not), medication and hormones. To first address the skin concern you must first know your skin type. There are 5 basic skin types:

1. Dry - flaky, dry or red patches. May lack luster with small pores. Hydration and protection helps combat dehydration.

2. Mature - puffiness, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, redness, reduction of elasticity and wrinkles. Intense moisture, antioxidants and commitment is key.

3. Oily/Combination - smooth skin but oily around forehead, nose and chin. Large pores and blackheads on or around nose. Needs balance, deep cleansing and regular exfoliation.

4. Normal - neither oily or dry. Blemish-free, even skin texture and pores barely visible. Prevention and consistency is key for this skin type.

5. Sensitive - prone to rashes, redness and irritation. May feel itchy or burning when using wrong products. Soothing and calming ingredients are the focus.

Okay, let's talk about which products to use to address skin concerns and how to create a regimen to ensure success.

Keep in mind, everyone's skin is unique and different. Please keep in mind there are some skin concerns that just are unavoidable like aging. Our approach is to focus on prevention and acceptance. Before we get into the good stuff. Just know...

When you move from traditional products to natural and organic skin care your skin will need to process any remaining chemicals remaining from your old skincare. Keep in mind, you'll need to allow enough time for the new products to penetrate and show results. The good news is that skin regenerates itself approximately every 27-28 days. This means your body will naturally detoxify itself by getting rid of these toxins.

To help the process, I'd recommend drinking plenty of water, eating clean food rich in fiber, magnesium, vitamins, good carbohydrates like fresh fruits and dark leafy vegetables and physical exercise to help he lymphatic system remove waste from the body. All of this is key and incorporating a consistent skin care regimen tailored to your skin. Do keep in mind it may take up to a month for your skin to completely detoxify from your old skincare. Also, I'm a firm believer that no one knows your skin better than you.

The more you are able to learn about your skin and body the better you'll be inspired to create your own skin care ritual. Also, our collection is formulated to be customizable and multi-functional in every way, so feel free to mix and match our collection accordingly.

Daily sunscreen not important but imperative. Sunscreen protects skin fro UVB and UVA rays. Be sure to use sunscreens that will not clog pores. Use a sunscreen with full or broad-spectrum to filter rays.
